Important message for our customers!
Dear customers,
we have now been hit too: like so many other companies here in Germany, we are now struggling to survive.
What does this mean for you?
We will fulfill your outstanding orders as far as possible, but ask you to give us some time.
In order to keep the costs as low as possible, we had to fire our team, so Alex has been doing everything on his own for the last few weeks: production, shipping, customer communication, office work, implementation of some new regulations and so on.
What led to this?
The problems started during the terrible COVID period.
While the supply chains collapsed, material costs exploded, many of you were on short-time work / became unemployed, we wanted to keep our pricing stable.
We did this for two reasons: firstly, to avoid having to dig deeper into your pockets, and secondly, to protest against this policy in our own way.
Do you remember? Even slaughterhouses were closed for weeks, "overdue" cattle were slaughtered at some point, not to mention all the other harassment...
We don't need to tell you how the prices have continued to develop. Corona aid repayments, CO2 taxes, electricity, petrol, company bankruptcies, company closures, company relocations abroad - you know it all....
Nevertheless, we were there for you almost 7/24, your friendship and your enthusiasm for our products has always given us a boost and made us able to endure many insults and grumbling, as well as threats of legal action due to a delivery time of usually about 3 weeks.
Once, just one time, Silke escalated because of this and expressed herself in an emotionally loaded post on Instagram and even then you quickly brought her back down and your numerous reactions encouraged us to keep going on.
For you - as WE couldn't really “live” from our work back then either.
But it was always an awesome feeling. It was simply incredible to experience this solidarity and appreciation... from customers, mind you, not from our families, not from our friends, but from you, our customers!
We think that this dealer-customer relationship is almost unique, especially in these days, and for that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In addition to the unmanageable production costs here in Germany, which will certainly not get any cheaper in the future due to the ever-increasing CO2 tax, there is a bureaucracy that is simply indescribable.
For every fart, some kind of certificate has to be produced, some kind of documentation has to be produced, there are no longer any direct contacts at the authorities and you are only referred to some kind of hotline, connected to at least 3 other offices and ultimately referred to online completion aids and fee-based “brokers”.
The internet doesn't work for days at a time, pick-ups by shipping companies don't work, supply chains have broken down.
All of this costs a lot of time, money and nerves.
Things that many of you also don't have any more, as we can see from the constantly decreasing number of orders.
So many of you are asking us whether we can offer a discount, when we will start the next discount campaign, whether we have B-grade goods in stock and so on.
We would have to at least more than double our prices to be able to compensate the falling number of orders. But that wouldn't help anyone, neither you nor us.
We want to continue to provide you with beautiful, great seats - for a good price.
We don't want to make seats and bags that only a few people can afford, but we still want to produce great things for the normal budget.
However, we can no longer do this without your help, so we would like to start a fundraising campaign on Gofoundme.
So to speak, from bikers for bikers, so that every biker can continue to afford quality.
